March is underway and that means everybody is gearing up for their favorite green holiday. I’m talking about St. Paddy’s Day of course. We’ve got the green fever and our bakers and chefs are cranking out all sorts of goodies. On the savory side there’s Corned Beef and Cabbage Scottish Pies along with our Colcannon Soup. If you’re lucky enough to be eating your corned beef at our Belvedere Square, Hopkins, or Canton Crossing locations wash it down with an ice cold beer.
On the sweeter side of things we have cookies, cupcakes, and soda bread. More on soda bread in a minute. Our stout cupcakes are made with Guinness stout beer and they are a “can’t miss” of the season. The cupcakes are iced with our mocha icing that highlights but doesn’t overpower the flavor of the chocolate stout. If cupcakes aren’t your thing (worrisome) and you’re looking for another sweet treat pick up an Iced Shamrock or Bag of Sugar Cookies.
Now let’s talk about our soda bread. Soda bread is a type of quick bread that utilizes baking soda as its leavening agent, hence the name. But Atwater’s Soda Bread goes to a whole new level. With currants, orange zest, and caraway seeds our Soda Bread has a more complex flavor profile than your run of the mill quick bread. Always popular and always delicious, head in to any Atwater’s location to grab a loaf today!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day from all of us at Atwater’s!
